Psychologist’s book to break cycle of abuse

A psychologist passionate about breaking the cycle of child-sex abuse has returned to Bunbury to launch her new book.

You, Me and a Cup of Tea is what author Monica Macoun considers an essential reference for anyone wanting to stop the cycle of abuse and learn about the topic and the healing process.

Macoun wrote the book during her time living in Bunbury and self-published it in the hope of encouraging people to talk about the issue and start a wider discussion.

“I was abused myself, but my story is actually very typical and not enough people talk about it,” she said.

“My idea for the book was to talk about my story and allow the reader to also share their story while providing them with resources and strategies to heal.”
